Natural selection, the peppered moth
This presentation investigates a famous case study for evolution. Originally peppered moths were pale, but during the industrial revolution the number of dark moths increased because they were indistiguishable from tree trunks covered in soot. After examining pictures, videos, and the fact file in the scrapbook section, students are asked questions about this example of natural selection. There are teacher's notes, a handout and a species profile.
